Author: Lentulov Aristarchus Vasiljevic'. 1882-1943
Creation date: 1913
Genre: Painting
Lentulov enjoyed resolving problems of sound and color relations, which was particularly reflected in his architectural landscapes, the main subject of which always was Russian ancient architecture. The artist creates not a portrait of St. Basil's Cathedral, but rather its spiritual image, while preserving color and rhythmic features of the architecture. In order to enhance the expressive means of painting, he uses the applique technique.
