In 1880, Kuindzhi organized an exhibition for one of the just painted by him pictures - a fact unprecedented in those times. Point of view from afar and from above leaves most of the canvas to display the sky with the shining disc of moon. For his love of the cut-off contrast, ability to effectively transfer midday lighting and lunar night lighting on canvas, Kuindzhi was called "an artist of light".
