In the center - Pokrov Cathedral, also known as St. Basil's Cathedral. The Cathedral was built during Ivan the Terrible ruling to commemorate conquered Kazan Khanate in 1555-1561, around the cathedral are trade stalls, the Kremlin wall is separated from the square by the moat. This landscape is a part of the series of Moscow and St. Petersburg paintings, on which artist was working in the late XVIII - early XIX centuries.
